This page provides important information about the kernel being developed for Manbo Core 2, which will be included in Mandriva 2009.0 and Turbo Linux distributions.

Kernel base is 2.6.26 (for changes between 2.6.24 and 2.6.25 click here).

Kernel releases happen every Thursday. The important dates are listed below.

[edit] laptop package has been dropped
Some basic measurements have shown that the old -laptop kernel was not saving much power when compared to the -desktop one, the main reason is probably CONFIG_NO_HZ support.
Because of this we have dropped the -laptop package.
