Introduction

The Mandriva Control Center (or MCC) is unique to the Mandriva Linux distribution. It is the central control / configuration tool for your Mandriva system. Using the MCC allows you to configure all of the major aspects of your system, making use of a simple and straight forward graphical interface. It's the power of this interface that makes it easy for people, who don't know anything about the Linux command line, to administer and maintain their Mandriva systems.

Launching the MCC

The MCC
You can find the Mandriva Control Center by clicking the application launch button on your toolbar and navigate to Tools -> System Tools and click on Configure Your Computer.
You can also launch the MCC from the command line. To do this, enter drakconf at the command prompt.

If you are not signed in as the Root (or Super User), you will be asked to type in your administrator password. Once you've done this, you will then see the MCC main menu.

Down the left hand column of the window, you will see a list of administration-type categories. By clicking on any one of these tabs, you will then be presented with the different icons to the right, used to launch the applications relating to the category. Clicking on them will launch the application.
