Drakboot --boot
From Mandriva Community Wiki
Drakboot is used to configure the boot loader.
The boot loader is the first menu that appears when the computer is switched on, where different operating systems can be selected.
Drakboot can be launched by opening a console, as root, and typing the command :
drakboot --boot
or by using the system menu : Tools > System Tools > Configure Your Computer > Boot > Set up boot system.
Mandriva Linux has a choice of two boot loaders : Lilo and Grub. The first was used by default for a long time because it used to be the only one to have a graphical menu. However, since Grub can now use a graphical menu, Mandriva uses Grub by default (for a comparison of Grub vs Lilo, see here).
The Mandriva tool has two parts : the first for configuring general options of the boot loader and the second for modifying the entries in the boot menu. To modify a menu entry, you should first select whether it represents booting a Linux system or an other operating system. Then, in the case of a Linux system, you need to know the name of the kernel and the root partition of the system you wish to boot.
