Swiss Army Knife
Probably best described as the Swiss Army knife of Mandriva server configuration tools, the DrakWizard(drakwizard) currently performs basic configuration of the following servers.
- Apache ( httpd )
- DNS ( bind )
- DHCP ( dhcp-server )
- FTP ( proftpd )
- OpenSSH ( openssh-server )
- Proxy ( squid )
- Time ( ntpd )
What more could a system administrator want?
GUI
X11
The drakwizard is integrated into the Mandriva Control Center application as well as being a stand alone application that can be used by executing the perl script, drakwizard(as root).
NCURSES
Whereas the standard best approach for running public servers is to never install the X11 environment, administrators will appreciate the convenience of having the next best thing: ncurses.
The ncurses interface is implemented for most server options so one can use this tool to configure the servers without ever needing to install X11.
Note: The Time(ntpd) server configuration cannot be run in console|ncurses mode, yet(2008-04-22 ).
Future
The Mandriva Development Projects page for DrakWizard has more information on current status and planned future developments.
