I am new to Mandriva... I was setting up all day.. downloading new packages via command line.. I learned how to configure, build/make, install, etc... Got the hang of it... I was trying to build a X-Window System with so many installs...

So I took a break and started to see if I could get my printer working... Got it done. The first time it didn't seem to know I had a printer, but it installed today. I don't know if it was from the packages I installed from the web or not?

So now I am using Mandriva's install manager.. I selectged many installs and now I am waiting

"Please wait................."

BUT!!!! The system is REMOVING Packages... my Konsole is gone too! What happened? I thought I was installing from the manager, but I lost a lot of stuff...

It now tells me, "All of these (about 50) are orphaned.. you can ????? them if you want". what the!!??!!

SO MANY THINGS DO NOW WORK NOW????? That star thing in the bottom left corner is not working now???

Is this because of the installs causing conflicts? Now it is installing... What is going on?
