Greetings and salutations!

I've been a Linux user on and off since 1999. I took a "hiatus" of a few years during the first part of this decade but "came back" in late 2004.

My very first distro (1999) was Mandrake. Since that time I've used RedHat, SUSE, Fedora, Debian and Ubuntu.

Ubuntu became my favorite a few years ago. I'd not used Mandrake/Mandriva since 2000 or so.

I decided to give Mandriva another try after a review I read recently and I'm very impressed. I remember how good it was back in 1999 and it's come a long way since then (as has every distribution). Back then though, it was the distribution for those looking for ease of use. There was no competition.

I'd kind of forgotten about Mandriva. Well, not so much forgotten as ignored. It kind of let me down when I took another look at in 2000-2001. For anyone who was around at that time, I got tired of the "nagging" (if you know what I mean).

In any event, I'm never one to use just one OS. I run 2-3 at any given time on my computer (not including those in Virtual Machines) so I've decided to make Mandriva one of those natively installed.

I enjoy contributing to the Linux community and the FLOSS community in general. I'm a Wikipedian so I'm quite familiar with Wikis (especially the MediaWiki software used by both Wikipedia and Mandriva).

So....

Here I am. :)
