One XFCE 2010 Live

On the 19th November 2009, the mandriva community has released the One XFCE 2010 Live edition to the world. We tried to ensure the XFCE experience is even better than before, do not hesitate to contact us if you think more polish is needed. You can contact us on the irc channel #mandriva-xfce, or open a bug report on the Mandriva Bug tracking system.

Caution !
Please remember, this edition is not a Mandriva product (so do not expect any kind of support directly from Mandriva), but has been completed with a great cooperation between the company and the community.

This edition contains bug fixes as available on the mirrors at the 17th of November, including the latest Firefox 3.5.5 and some Mandriva tools updates. However, we strongly recommend you to install all remaining updates in order to get the best from the distribution.

Enjoy this edition!

New features of this edition

As for every One product, this is a Live CD that you can use for tests on your system, and when satisfied with it, you can install it with a single click on the install icon from the desktop.

Known Issues

org.freedesktop.Hal.Error

An error message about "org.freedesktop.Hal.Error" is displayed when you shut down while logged in live mode (see the bug report, see the error screenshot).

In order to solve this problem, we applied a patch to the PolicyKit policy so every user is allowed to shutdown/restart:

diff -p -up /etc/PolicyKit/PolicyKit.conf_orig /etc/PolicyKit/PolicyKit.conf

XFCE is too noisy

By default, a lot of desktop sounds are enabled. If you want to alter the settings, or remove this option completely, go to xfce4-settings->Appearance->Settings tab->Event sounds and adjust to your needs.
