Mandriva Linux 2009 è attualmente in fase di sviluppo. Durante il ciclo si sviluppo, questa pagina di Errata mostrerà i problemi che gli utenti hanno riscontrato con le release beta e Cooker. Dato che questa release è in sviluppo, non si possono usare i metodi normali per risolvere i problemi. Per le release beta non vengono rilasciati aggiornamenti ufficiali. I problemi vengono risolti da aggiornamenti caricati direttamente nel ramo Cooker, e come vengono fatte nuove release beta, quei problemi vengono risolti in queste. I problemi che si verificavano con le precedenti release beta ma non con le ultime release beta vengono considerati 'risolti'. Quando si riscontra il problema nell'ultima release beta ma non nel ramo Cooker aggiornato, quel problema non viene considerato 'risolto' fino al rilascio di una nuova beta, ma viene inclusa nella descrizione del problema una nota che dice che il problema è stato corretto in Cooker, più un riferimento allo specifico pacchetto corretto.

[modifica] Alpha 1 unsuitable for use as an upgrade
Due to some changes made (and later reverted) in the X.org packages, and due to the fact that a migration path from KDE 3 to KDE 4 has not yet been fully implemented, Mandriva Linux 2009 Alpha 1 is not suitable for use (even for testing) as an upgrade from any previous stable Mandriva Linux release. Please do not attempt to upgrade any stable Mandriva Linux installation using Mandriva Linux 2009 Alpha 1; it is very likely that X will be unusable on the resulting installation, and KDE also broken. Please use Mandriva Linux 2009 Alpha 1 only as a clean installation (or in live mode). Of course, please retain an installation of a stable Mandriva Linux release (or any other distribution and operating system) for regular, production use: all pre-releases of Mandriva should only ever be used for testing purposes.

[modifica] Windows Mobile 2003 and earlier devices cannot be used, cause kernel oops
Due to a bug in the Linux kernel, Windows Mobile 2003 and earlier devices (which are supported by the ipaq module) fail to work with Mandriva Linux 2009 Alpha 1. On investigation of the system logs, you will notice a kernel oops at the time the module is loaded and the system attempts to recognize the device. This issue is being examined by the upstream kernel maintainers and we hope to resolve it in future pre-releases. As a workaround, the alternative kernel-tmb kernel from the /contrib section may be used, as it is based on kernel 2.6.24, which does not contain this bug, which appeared in kernel 2.6.26.
