drakroam is the wireless utility used in Mandriva Linux

Simple interface

Drakroam in 2007 show further improvements in the UI.

Now the main window allow to:

  • Select the wireless card to use
  • Select a network from a list. The main window shows a list of available networks with their basic properties, and allows to connect to them or edit their settings.

The connection parameters of available networks can be modified in the settings window.

More advanced options can now be specified concerning the wireless settings or the IP settings.

Features

  • lists available networks using the MandiDaemon (over DBus), wpa_supplicant (using wpa_cli) or iwlist
  • supports unencrypted, WEP (open or restricted) and WPA-PSK authentications
  • keeps configuration for multiple wireless networks (in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/wireless.d/)
  • Allow to associate a VPN connection
