Talk:Development/Ideas/Mandriva 2006
From Mandriva Community Wiki
What's the real value of this list if the previous list of the Community's ideas haven't been answered/completed ? Do we have to fill this list with the pending items of the previous one ?

I've changed the layout of the table to have a third column, where people should put a link to the related bugzilla issue. This bugzilla issue should be opened with a "clear title for the suggestion"(TM) + "priority=P3" + "Severity=enhancement" Example : http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7205

Yes, I think we should move all this things to Bugzilla. Please see the discussion started with http://archives.mandrakelinux.com/cooker/2005-04/msg01474.php.

I wish we keep this page to list all the ideas for next release but shouldn't we periodicaly remove ideas that have no bugzilla entry ? -- FredericConrotte - 13 Apr 2005
IMO, the request for merging the packages is really not valid. But the request for a More Intuitive Package Management is valid, but we still need The Great Tool that would do it for us. The Great Tool would solve the problem of users saying "but I don't want to remove foobar!" when foobar is just a metapackage that needs to be removed because an optional component was removed. I really think that saying "I am going to remove foobar" when foobar isn't going to be removed isn't intuitive. But this is a long story, and it is not a packaging issue, but regarding how the package management software shows the user what is being done.
