Hardware: KVM Compatibility
( KVM = Keyboard, Video, Mouse: a switch to control multiple computers with a single set of "KVM")
The consensus is that most KVMs work without problems. Some older models had problems with mice when switching. Scott Mazur reports that his problems were solved when he changed his model to one accepting PS2 mice.

- Switchview OSD 8 Port
- Switchview 4 Port Switch
- I did expereinced loss of mouse, keyboard signal on the 4 Port Switch. I guess it was old model and had some problem with the firmware. One thing I found in both models is video goes blank if hibernation occured on a LM channel. I need to type in the keystrokes without screen output to switch to another channel and back to restore video. To bypass this problem I need to set channel to a NT box when I exited from KVM. - NormanZhang
[edit] Belkin
- The Belkin range used to have a problem with switching mice, it affected all OSs as I recall, it would cause a mouse disconnect while it was switching and thus the OS would decide the mouse was not there. - Chris Lee

- This and the Planet kvm-400 - all ports but one are connected to linux machines, one to a NT4 box. Resolution is up t0 1920x1440. Both are "Made in China", are cheap (about 65$ a piece) but I like the way they work. SmartView even has rack mounting option. - Dragos "Birkoff" Dionisie
