This wiki style/design is still rough but it works.

Side-by-side comparison with wikipedia for reference may not be fair but the latter seems to have a lot of info that is auto-generated, keeping it fresh-looking and that is important.

I've seen elsewhere in the Cooker ML discussion of creating a much stronger logical organization for the Mandriva wiki. I agree with this in principle. But at the same time it should not cause the wiki to be rigidly set 'in concrete', that is it still needs to be kept fresh and interesting.

[edit] Wiki style/design

I absolutely agree with your comments. This isn't meant to be a strict set-in-stone thing (at least not yet.. obviously there needs to be more input and there needs to be some collaboration on how to set structure and policies, etc.). Comparing to wikipedia is hard... they use a *lot* of templates which makes things very neat, but those templates don't come with mediawiki so, while we could make use of them, it's a lot of cut-n-paste trying to track everything down.

But the look/feel can always be changed. I chose this particular look because it was similar to the current TWiki, but I don't really care so much about style as I do about content and structure. Those are the things that need to be "set in stone" and the look can be adjusted however we want.

[edit] Proposal of new page

To be consistent with French and Spanish wiki, check HomeNew which is a proposal to change the english home page. Please discuss it either on web-discuss ML or - better - Talk:HomeNew
