[edit] MandrivaOnline broken link (MNF2 only)
The mandrivaonline.net URL was changed to mandrivaonline.com few weeks ago, this prevents the mdkonline binaries which use the '.net' extension to work correctly besides the setup of a redirection mechanism. Install manually the update version available here and redo the configuration step in MandrivaOnline section from the MNF2 web interface.
[edit] MandrakeUpdate name change (2006.0)
MandrakeUpdate binary is now known as MandrivaUpdate due to the Mandriva name change. This causes the Mandriva online package to call a non existing binary on 2006.0. MandrivaOnline users should upgrade to mdkonline-1.3-5mdk.noarch.rpm or above. You can schedule an automatic update or 'manually' install the package.
This update fixes also the account creation and authentication based on obsoleted architecture (versions older than 2006.0). user email address is used as a unique login throughout all our web services. Read the FAQ for more information about user account.
[edit] MandrivaOnline authentication scheme changes
Since June,8th 2005, authentication through MandrivaOnline is done by using your email as a login. Simple login such as 'john_smith' is not working anymore.
The following lines in logs show the problem
15:38:11 Computing new updates... 15:38:11 Connecting to http://www.mandrivaonline.net//online3_RemoteAction.php?action=UpdateList&log=john_smith&host=myhost ... 15:38:19 Wrong Action or host or login.
To fix the issue:
- Right click on the applet
- click on configure
- Follow the wizard steps
- put your new email login and password and the same machine name as before.
If you are using an enterprise product (Corporate server for instance), just type 'mdkonline' as root from a terminal. MNF users must go to MandrivaOnline section and click on 'configure'
